During the retreat we will explore how developing kinship with ourselves, each other and all forms of life has the potential to transform the root causes of the polycrises; weaving ourselves as humanity back into the web of life. This radical paradigm shift requires decolonizing our mind, a deeper listening from a more humbled place within how to become a human being for all life to thrive. We hope both new and old members will join for this transformative journey!

Guest teachers
We feel honoured to have Sicelo Mbatha, a spiritual nature guide from South-Africa, with us again as a guest facilitator. Lama Rinchen, Director of the retreat centre will join us this time more frequently as we are up to a deep dive on all system levels. Gregory of the permaculture garden will shape for us a session in the permaculture garden and is our local guide for the nature practices  (see ‘about us’ for more info on the team)

At this retreat we will:

  • Take time out for silence, walks outside in nature, and periods of deep reflection.
  • Connect with others in community; making space for collective radical inquiry, deep listening and mutual support.
  • Co-create spaces for regeneration, reciprocity and reverence with the Earth.

This retreat is for you if:

  • You yearn for time out to deeply connect with yourself and nature.
  • You’d like to learn (more) about inner practices, social action and the connections between.
  • You enjoy discovering new ways to connect and share with like-minded people.

The retreat will draw on practices from The Work that Reconnects (Joanna Macy) & Kincentric leadership, alongside ancient wisdom traditions like Tibetan Buddhism and ‘Ubuntu’ principle in Zulu tradition, integrating science, systems thinking and nature connection practices. However you do not need to have any previous experience, beliefs or practices to come. All are welcome; we’d love for you to join us!

What participants shared about the Spiritual Ecology retreat
‘What an amazing, deeply connecting and nurturing experience this retreat is! It is such a joy (and for me, even a necessity) to take the time to reconnect with nature, others and myself in this hectic world. I love the guidance of the retreat, the beautiful setting of the buddhist centre in nature, the program that is very well balanced with playful, touching and inspiring practices, meditations, sharings, teachings, gardening, quiet time, camping next to a river, and amazing food, which made it irresistible to me to come back each of the four years! ‘ Noortje Schrauwen

‘I went home with an open heart and a refreshed mind, full of thanks for the gift of life’ Wannes Vancayseele

‘The spiritual ecology retreat in Baumont as been a space where I could share my pain and truth. Welcoming my truth in a safe and sacred space made me land in a bigger truth of care, interdependence, the ever changing nature of reality and gave me deepening insights about my way of relating. I’m super grateful for all who contributed to this journey and I’m empowered to bring forth some practises within my own context of teaching.’ Marjan Wink

‘The Spiritual Ecology Retreat did not just show me the power of nature and community but made me directly experience that I’m a bigger part of a whole. The level of vulnerability, connection and warmth I experienced in this group is unique. I came back home with a deep feeling of gratitude, new energy for my work and a big smile to share with my colleagues, friends and family :)’ Sietse de Vilder

‘The moral weight of the interconnected crises is very heavy to carry alone, and so we must connect to other beings and humans to find the power of life to regenerate. Annick is a compassionate facilitator with a steady hand on the energy of the group and the impulses of the unforeseen. It was a transformative experience for me.’ Frances Verkamp

Community of practice

Spiritual Ecology Practice Sessions online

With these practice sessions we're co-creating a human space for resonant connection; to orient ourselves towards reciprocity and mutual thriving, to internalize the reality of our interdependence and to discover and strengthen our alignment with our purpose in life.
How? By offering meditation, mindful inquiry and sacred heart circle sharings that enables us to explore, heal and reconnect with ourselves, each other, and the web of life. We explore questions that are meaningful to us in pairs (in break-out rooms) and the group-as-a-whole.
