“All flourishing is mutual”

The seasons invites us to realize that abundance can be found and felt at all times of the year in different ways. Potawatomi botanist Robin Wall Kimmerer asks in her essay on Serviceberry: “How can acknowledging this abundance help us reimagine an economy built on scarcity? How can we sing gratitude for plentifulness, in all seasons? When we find the courage to honour the gifts given by the living world, the outcome, she says, is not only material, but spiritual.”

In 2026 we offer each season a Spiritual Ecology practice day to align us with the rhythms and cycles of our bodies, the seasons, the Earth, the sun and the moon.

Our second seasonal practice day will be in deep spring. This time I will work together with Noortje Schrauwen, both a dear community member and board member of our foundation. She is partner of WeAreNature (www.we-are-nature.nl).

During this spring practice day, we will explore how to feel ourselves part of spring’s larger intelligence while also doing the interior work of awakening to our innate potential for a just world where all life can thrive.

We love you to join us if you are curious about Spiritual Ecology and a seasonal practice day, no prior experience is needed

The following two questions will guide us through the day

  1. What within me is ready to burst forth, and what conditions does it need to fully emerge? This question honors spring’s essence of becoming visible—what was dormant or hidden now pushing through soil into light.
  2. Where do I experience abundance right now, and how does gratitude for this plentifulness change my relationship with scarcity? This question asks us to actively locate the “gifts given by the living world” in the present moment—not as abstract concept but as felt experience. It then invites the transformative work of letting abundance reshape our habitual patterns of fear, hoarding, or deficit-thinking.

From the collection of seasonal practices by Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee: “Run, leap, skip to the space where you see the deepest depth of spring: the lush green meadow, the forest in full verdant leaf, the river swollen, the garden erupting with life. Everything in the land is awake, teeming, riotous, rampant, birthing new cycles. Feel your own body as a crescendo of energy as you continue to move with vigour across the land. In spring’s becoming, where everything that was hidden beneath the surface now shows its face and announces its splendour, find yourself, too, coming fully alive.”
